Professional Activities Officer Uncontested
Trinka Pape Southern Illinois University Carbondale
I remember my first IACRAO Conference in October 2023. I was nervous, but excited to soak up the knowledge from the different sessions. When the time came for the Southern District to meet that Thursday, we realized that the Southern District had not held a District meeting since 2019. The 2020 event was canceled. We were eager to get the event back up and running, and I volunteered for the mission. I have been honored to serve as the IACRAO Southern District Chair since 2023. This opportunity has allowed me to expand my professional landscape and meet many new colleagues from across the state of Illinois.
SIU Carbondale has been my home since 1997 when I began my master’s degree studies, and it remains my home today while I complete my Dissertation. I have been on staff with SIUC since July 2013, and with the Registrar’s Office since June 2019. I am currently the Coordinator for Articulation and Evaluation, in this role since April 2021.
I am always seeking new ways to grow professionally and am excited to learn more about the Professional Activities Officer role. I received strong support from those on the IACRAO Executive Board and am looking forward to supporting others as I grow in this role. I appreciate your trust in me for this position on the Executive Board.
